A relative newcomer to the Napa scene, Gianni P bought his first 11 acres on the Silverado trail in 89. Planted to Zin and Petite Sirah he replanted to cab in 90 1st vintage was 94 which received rave reviews. This 95 carries on the string of outstanding wines. Now with 36 acres this is a winery that is in the process of making great wines in the bordelais and Tuscan persuasions. Sangiovese along with Syrah are also planted. This 95 is a deep ruby mouthfull that'll pin your ears back. At a modest 13.5% alc. and with max fruits, spices, and lovely floral aromas it's hard for me to think there 'haint some merlot or cab franc in this wine.Weighty center palate and a full 4-lapper finish, this hummer needs another 3-5 to fully develop. 88/88. 40 by the box. ww
