One of the few 98s' I bought. A well-made concentrated bottle of juice.Deep ruby, nice aromatics with some pretty violets coming to the front. Solid entry and center with a good 3&3/4 lapper finish. Still a small amount of tannins but almost there. 89/90. 25 by the box on special.13.5% alc. WW

Still improving. The aromatics are comin on.
No change in ratings yet. WW

The nose has improved enough to kick the rating up to outstanding. One of the 4 or 5 real successes I've had from this difficult vintage. WW

Had a bottle yesterday for lunch with a nice juicy broiled rib-eye. Lovely stuff. Not much add except the nose is really coming on now. Still some velvety taannins that shoul;d carry it another 1-3 before peaking. WW

Opened another after the wedding yesterday. Not much more to say. A very enjouable bottle of superior juice. WW

Had another bottle yesterday with homemade turkey meatloaf slathered in carmelized- onion laced marinara. This is another example of what a superior winemaker can accomplish in vintages that are far from optimum. Think this has pretty well gotten me to thwe bottom of the barrel on this fine bottling. Still a solid 90/90. WW

"-----homemade turkey meatloaf slathered in carmelized- onion laced marinara."

Why not a Monte?

Dint realize the General had any vineyards. WW

Had the last from the box and these are real tears running down me chubby lil' cheeks. This bottling has improved from the 2 year onward and now I'd give this baby a solid 92. Will start on some other vintages soon. WW

WW, Have you had any Meander Cabernet Sauvignon or Swanson "Alexis" C.S.? I recently ordered three bottles of the Alexis from 2004 and three bottles of the Larkmead from 2005. I don't think I've placed an order on the Meander but I'm considering it.

WOW sweetie I've never had the Meander but love both of the 2 you've ordered. Many posts on both wines. WW
