After trying the 2 vintages wares separately, I decided to open one-ub-ich and compare. The 95 Whitehall was just coming into bloom and the nose really blossomed after 30 min. Extremely floral and a reall sleeper of the fine 95 vintage. Lots of btite red fruits, almost candied cocoa with a hint of vanilla. Still with enuf juice to take it another 2-3. The 96 vintage has me completely unnerved. This ZD had a really up-front nose that was dominated by the black fruits, plums, bakers chocolate and a spicy portion that was interesting, Smooth entry, a solid center, with a long finish. Lots of juice but took an hour for any tannins to show up. So far the 96s' are looking like they'll be drinking far sooner than the 95s, which i sure didn't see in the initial assesment. WW Both wines were 90-91

Opened another of the 95 Whitehall Lane for lunch yesterday. Brite ruby with lite bricking. Mature nose featuring red plumminess along with cream de cassis, and some wilted roses. Soft and supple entry, medium center and a lovely 4 lapper finish that was elegant. Definately at the TOIG and will take care of any others in the cellar soon. Take this to a 91. WW
