What are some oer duerves (sp?) for this wine?

Hi Mary, and welcome to the Wine Board. Stong flavored hard cheeses, e.g. extra sharp cheddar; mincemeat (the kind made with a meat such as venison) on crackers; meatballs in a savory sauce that does not include tomatoes.

Hors d'oeuvres is the correct spelling, although actually the 'o' and 'e' are connected ... can't find that key on my keyboard.

Hi Mary and welcome. My favorite and easy accompniment to a good bottle of cabernet is a nice bowl of lightly buttered popcorn overwhich I grate some fresh Reggiano- Parmesiano.
Simple but accents the wine like few other foods.WW
