I am preparing a New Years Dinner including crown roast of pork and merliton stuffing. The recipe that I am using came from foodtv.com. You can read the recipe if it helps. The link is:

I am kind of thinking that I want to serve a Pinot Noir but would appreciate other suggestions as well. I live in rural Kansas and would prefer a wine under $20. I have browsed several wine related sites but am unable to narrow my search far enough to provide focus and direction. Clearly I will need several choices, perhaps in order of your personal rating.

Also if you choose to read the recipe, it calls for a dry white wine to baste the meat with. Any suggestions for this?

Thanks

dlybarger, welcome. I read your recipe and like the idea of an earthy pinot noir. Many pinots display this profile and I'm sure you could get a good recommendation from a wine merchant in your area. The two below are nice and in your price range. I would also baste the pork with whatever pinot you choose to drink.

'99 Buena Vista Pinot $16
'99 Frei Bros $16
