This was to make up for the dissapointment of the St Francis yesserday. Did the job admirably. Deep purple.( That'd make a nice title for a song ). Black and red fruits hit with the addition of cassis, cinnamon and cocoa. More subtle that Dunns' version and very well-balanced. Weighty mouthfeel and center palate and a solid 4&1/2 lapper finish. 92/89. 39 by the box. WW

Had this yesterday for lunch. Decided I've been ignoring my faavorite grape lately so the Pinots are on the back burner for awhile. Getiing a slight amber edge. Nose has expanded to include soft floral notes and a nice earthiness. The mouthfeel has become softer and silkier and all-in-all this has developed just as scheduled. Still a modicum of supple tannins in the background but is very close TTTOIG. Kick it up a point on both sides. WW
