Another orphan that appered yesterday while looking for something else. Remeber this as a muscular young athelete that had just finished his last race. Now it's relaxing in it's old age knowing it could still compete but would strain to keep up. Clear ruby with just a small bricking at the rim. Nose has mature red fruits, sweet spices, cassis and a touch of vanilla. Soft entry, solid center and a 4 lapper finish. Absolutely no noticible tannins. Probably on the decline and could have been on the top at least 5-6 years ago. Still looks like it will be drinkable for another 2-4 but why chance it? 90/95 15 by the box. 13.4% alc. WW

WW: I just procured two bottles of the '95 and one of the '94. I'm assuming drink the 95 first, then the 94, and sooner rather than later on all of them?

opened one of the 95s at my brother's on sunday for dinner and the redskins game. decanted only for sediment, and it ended up there was very little at the bottom of the bottle. wine had beautiful, mature cab aromatics and flavors. it was on the tongue, though, that you could tell this wine is on the downslope. really nice and elegant, just not quite as as big as you would hope. still impressive (89 points), but probably 2-3 points better 2-3 years ago. will drink the other bottle of 95 and the lone 94 by inauguration day.

drank the second bottle of 95 at my brother's on christmas eve. definitely shone despite some fine company (including a 99 ch. margaux pavillon rouge) and i'd kick the score up to a 90. deelish! planning to pop that 94 next weekend.

Have just one Knights Valley in the cellar. It's a 1997 in Jereboam. Should last a few more years if you all are drinking the 94's now.

The 97 is a winner too. In that format there's no rush to consume unless I'm there to help pull the cork. WW
