1999 Pedroncelli, Cabernet Sauvignon, Three Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley, California, $14.50. This sparkling ruby wine boasts blackberry, blueberry, mint, and American oak aromas and flavors. Well-balanced, medium-bodied, with food-friendly acidity. 86/89.

This is always one of the daily cabs I buy. Never shortchanges. WW

I did a search for Pedroncelli Cabernet Sauvignon after tasting a recent release at a wine shop in Raleigh. It was the Three Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, CA and I liked it well enough to buy a bottle for $12.99. May be the best Cal cab I've found at under $15. I was questioning my own impressions so did the search and find that Bucko, WW and others had good things to say about the QPR of Pedroncelli wines. I'm not positive if it was the 2000 I purchased but will post after I open the bottle and taste it at home. If it lives up to first impressions, in what may be an iffy vintage for California reds, I will post under Best Buys/Steal Deals.
Other wine purchases this weekend--a Brouilly Beaujolais Cru that I will open tonight, an old vines Pouilly Fuisse, a half-bottle of a 2001 German Eiswein (for about $30), a 1999 Meursault Perrieres from Boillot, and a Wynn's Coonawarra Shiraz that may also qualify for Best Buys/Steal Deals. I am forgetting at least one wine.
