Several months ago our local AJs' had a sale on Prime Prime Boneless Rib-Eyes. I had the butcher cut me up 4 at just under 3" and wrapped and put in the freezer. Last Tues discoverd the suckers and took 2 out to thaw. Was going to hve them Sat. but took so derned long to thaw I cooked them Sun. Decided they needed something kinda' special so opened this for myself and a 2004 Talley single vineyard SW for CB.Keen meal and the wine held its head high. Dark ruby verging on purple. Nose had cassis, deep blue fruit, spices and subtle hints of cardamon. Solid entry, muscular center and a 4&1/2 lapper finish. This is very close to the outstanding 92 and 94 vintages from this top-flight producer. 93-5/90. 66 by the box. 13.5% alc. WW

Sounds like a perfect combo, the wine, the meat and the people
