This is the Chilean Concha y Toro special reserve bottle. Intense black cherries, some figs and plums, greenery, oak, coffe and vanilla. A lot of alcohol on the nose (14%) and quite a bit of tannins on the finish, but softening a bit in the glass.

I'm really enjoying some of these better reds from Chile. They do have more of a veggie flavor to them, but are good wines for the money. This one was about $16. BK 89

To each his/her own.

Yup, the only S. American wine I've really enjoyed lately is the 04 Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexander Merlot...very,very good imho.

My only beef is with Chile; enjoy much from Argentina including the beef.

Drew,

Try this merlot too. Excellent, in my opinion.
