Guys, I'm trying to make a buy decision. Got an opportunity to buy a few cases of Paul Hobbs from a former client of New Vine Logistics. He's got the 2000 Paul Hobbs Hyde Cab, and I have searched the forum. Any you guys had this vintage? What to expect in terms of drink through? Would love any insight before tasting on what to expect...

I don't have experience with this wine per say. I think WW has more experience in this area but I'll add my two cents in. Good Cabs from 2000 are to be consumed soon. I've had some recently from Heitz in Mags that are more than ready and from other producers to confirm that these are ready to drink now. It is a slightly more reserved and less fruit driven vintage but I've never shyed away from then but consume them with the that perspective in mind. Depending on price, I would definitely try one. Gotta work on a New Hampshire shipping address for you...

I bought very few of the 00 vintage not necessarily because I was afraid of it but at the time I had an overflowing cellar. Have always loved Hobbs' Hyde vinryard offerings. If the price be rite, take a flyer. I'd buy a bottle first to try. WW

Oh yeah. I never go long. I go wide... and I'm talking about wine. Will post some notes. Its from a friend, and longtime wine collector. He's a trusted guy, but nonetheless, its an excuse to have a glass.
