Took out a 6-pack of 90's to my Daughters yesserday for lunch with her, ole'whasshisname, and my "Drop-Dead Gorgeous" Grand-daughter. Started with a Rafanelli which was still muscular , but jam-packed with all the essentials. Next was a wine I'm dedicating to Buckinheimer. Dehlinger Estate. This Weyerheiser of a bottle had me spitting toothpicks for 20 minutes. Still some fruit, but.... put aside. Next came 2 great stuffers, Ridge Montebello and Santa Cruz Mtn. Vineyards Bates. Tough call as both have turned the corner to civility and wowed all with the aromatics and concentration of fruits. Had lots of cheeses, fruit, and nuts. Then broke out the 83 Loosen Eiswein. Lovely, even tho technically it's still a SW. Finished with a
63 Fonseca. Gramps took a nap before coming back down the hill. Tears ebberwheres saying Bye to my Darlin'. Guess this is what its' about. WW Three hours later the lumber-yard was still in Biz.

That's why I gave up on Dehlinger -- too much wood.

I Know, I Know, I Know!!!!!! You've tolt' me a hunnert times. This is excessive. Most of the older Dehlingers integrate the wood beautifully after 10 years. This is IMHO atypical. WW
