WOW...why didn't I listen to WW earlier?
Dark purple, almost opaque, with an "in your face" nose of mature ripe plum and cassis. Like flavors that are rich with drying tannins on the mid palate but smooth on the long finish. Lovely to look at, smell, and taste, Decanted for 1 hour prior to Filet Mignons, baked spuds and a medley of veggies. Great match and little oak, WITHSTAND members take note. I'm a happy guy all alone this evening, child bride is working tonight, getting ready to smoke cigar #2 in this 88 degree Maryland weather. 13% Alc/vol. $13.

Thanks for those good notes, Drew! I'm convinced to give it a try.

Ah Ye Of Little Faith!. Agin' fellers, Hess is still one of the great P/Q producers left in Napa. His 92 is rite now one of the delights to open and drink whinced I be alone, wif' somebods, or jes' pinin' fer some palate comfort. The 93, 94, 95, and 96's are all from a year to 5 to coming together, but Drewpooper, If'n you think that suckers good now, put it on the back burner for at least another 5 and then drink it bare-footed so your socks don' leave burn marks as they roll up and down.
