1997 Clos Du Bois, Cabernet Sauvignon, Briarcrest, Alexander Valley, $36, 2,100 cases. Huge blackberry jam and dark chocolate leap from the glass. Intense on the palate, the wine displays blackberry, chocolate, toasted oak, a dash of herbs and tobacco, on a well-balanced framework. A sure hit for those who like big Cabs.
