1997 Kenwood, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, $22, 39,650 cases. Almost opaque in the glass, the wine has lovely blackberry and American oak aromas. Rich, dark fruits prevail, with generous but integrated sweet oak, and a long, fruity finish. The ample tannins will benefit from bottle aging. Good value.

Hey there Buckster, Just noticed this posting. Thoroughly agree about the Kenwood. I`ve , almost without exception , always preferred their Sonoma and J. London bottlings to the Artists. Not predudicial, just that they always seem to have the better balance of the 3 and not contrived or manipulated.I agree on the Sonoma and also think the London will evolve into some kinda` good juice. I haven't bought Artist in years. What is it up to nowadays, $70 or more? I'd rather have three bottles of the Sonoma anyday.

Bucko, Last Artist I bought was the 92 ( Which will be in the tasting later) and that sucker was 47 bucks. I`ll Second the 3 to one on the Sonoma. The Artist has never rung my bell. WW
