1997 Clos Du Val, Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve, Napa Valley, California, $90, 2,900 cases. Deeply colored, with blackberry, cassis, and French vanilla accents. Elegantly balanced, with layers of black fruit, chocolate and French vanilla. The tannins are sturdy, the acids divine. Give this one some bottle time. 90/86.

Buscko, Bernie musta' hit his head and learned something. I just tried and ordered a box of his 97 "Geroge the third" vineyard bottling. 45 per and gave it a 92. Probably the same for value. Best cab I've had from this venerable property. I reported on his 97 Estate @ 27 per. It was also outstanding. It is currently residing in the cellar. WW
