I just bought a bottle of 2003 Sterling for $12. Any opinions on this one? Just another one produced to sell by the hundreds of thousands in grocery stores, or a cut above (or below)?

I don't know much about the 2003 vintage in California but I like most Cal cabs with a bit of age. Let us know what you think of it.

Popped it last night. It's very similar to the Mondavi from the same year, but a bit more, more tannins, a lttle more depth, but not much. I really liked it. A solid, good cab, but not unusual or special.

Still, a good juice for the price.

Generally Napa cabs need at least 3-5 from vintage date to show their best . When the lable reads "California" it is probabl;y ready on release. WW
