WOW what a bottle of juicy juice. This quality producer has 160 acres of prime vineyards in the Carneros region of Napa and this represents the best of the best of the super graapes from marvelous 97 vintage. A meritage blend of 47% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauv, and 22% Cab Franc. Since the first bottle tried in 92 this wine has nade quantum leaps. Hoagy Carmichael color(Deep Purple) with ruby edges. Violets, roses, and honeysuckle, sweet spices, and red fruits mark the expressive nose. All come across on the palate. Add a touch of vanilla and some cassis and you have the complete picture. Still needs another 2-4 to resolve the fine-grained tannins. 92/94. 30 by the box. 14.2% alc. WW

wow, that sounds absolutely lovely. What are your experiances with other vintages of this reserve? I doubt I'll be able to find the '97.

This is a very reliable producer so the RSV Reserve from all good vintages should be fine. Have the 99 and 01 resting. WW

Opened another for lunch yesserday. Nose has really expanded with intensity that only age gives it. The floral qualities give the impression of enteriong your local FTD. Depth of fruit has also blossomed.(Get it ...Floral...blossomed..guess you need to be there???) Any way you cut the cookie this is a very impressive bottle. Kick up a point to 93. WEW
