Picked this up a couple of weeks ago cause it was a '97 and was curious about their cabs, (I like their Petit Sirah). Dark ruby and a muted nose of blackberry and spice, I thought of syrah. Like flavors with a touch of sweet creamy vanilla it still says syrah. Smooth with fine grained tannins, it is an enjoyable wine but very un-cab like. 13.5%Alc/vol. $10.99

Hi Drew,

I'm a very big fan of the 97 Concannon Reserve Cab. 10.99 is a steal! Unless it's the Select Vinyard, then that's about right. I live about 10 minutes from Concannon, and know that they will soon be holding back the 97 Reserve Cab by the end of Oct. They just released a 99 Reserve that is good, but needs much more aging.

Yes, it was the Select Vineyard.
