Came in hot & filthy from the ranch this evening and smelled pot rost! Spun around and dug in the EuroCave for a cab, so wouldn't have to trudge the 60 yds to the cellar. Turned up this juice. No decanting, just let 'er rip.

Color's there, nice cab nose.... cassis on the tongue, no pencil lead, just fruit.... a bit shallow but still tasty, actually pretty nice. She pronounced it over the hill but I'm not so quick to condemn. Would be happy to have more but this is the one and only. 13.5% alc/vol and probably about $12.

This label was created by Chuck Wagner of Caymus for his non-estate cab and used to be from some superb vineyards in Napa. Since sonny took over I think the fruit comes from the central coast but is probably a well-made wine for the money. WW

Interestingly, back when Chuck was in charge they also had a Liberty School Three Valley Select White. It was essentially extra juice they didn't put into the Conundrum, and it was very close to it in quality, but the price was $5.99. Then all of a sudden the White was gone, Conundrum production jumped dramatically as did the price. That happened about the time Charley took over. Hmmm.
