- EAP - 11-22-2003 This is my first attempt to pair wine with food. I decided on a 2000 Navarro Mendocino Gewurztraminer to go with a cheese course that will include fig tapenade and a pickled fig - that is pretty sweet. I am told the Gewurztraminer is not available even at the winery. Can anyone suggest another? Thanks - Innkeeper - 11-22-2003 Hi EAP and welcome to the Wine Board. You might try to find Thomas Fogarty, Monterey, Gewurztraminer. - EAP - 11-23-2003 Innkeeper, Thanks, I will-I am running out of time because I am leaving for the east coast Tuesday morning - any particular reason why you like that one? EAP - Innkeeper - 11-23-2003 Have had both it and the Navarro, and are both pretty close. The Fogarty is a little better and a little more expensive. - EAP - 11-23-2003 Innkeeper, Thanks, I hope I can get it today. EAP |
