Quick question from a beginer. I have a dinner date on Wednesday night and I'm making a Fettuccine Alferdo with Chicken Breast strips/bits mixed in. For an appitizer I'm having fried or grilled shrimp. What kind of wine (under $30.00 a bottle) should I use for this occastion? She likes a more fruity wine, and I personally do not like Red wines too much. I'm usually a fan of a good White Zinfindale or some kind of Cardonaee (sp?). Help me!!

Hi Beau, and welcome to the Wine Board. You need a white with a lot of backbone. Believe me, I went much to light with a lobster fettuccine recently, and it was a disaster. Recommend a Cotes Du Rhone Blanc.

Another option would be an Italian Rose' (Rosato). Recommend a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasulo. Cerasulo is a term they use in that region for rosato. Do not get a rosso which is dark red.
