Just keeps getting better. Deep ruby, nose reclusive at first...with 30 mins in glass lots of black fruits come forward along with cassis, some Healdsburg dirt, vanilla and exotic spices. Silky entry, a very well-constructed center, and a long finish. Still a large veil of rounded tannins. This is one fine bottle of juice that has at least another 4-5 of development. Zelma strikes agin'. WW93

This wine never seems to get the hype it deserves compared to other wines of the same ilk.

Had an '80 one time, and it was one the best wines we've ever had.

Hype-Schmype! This is a wine that is always on my short list every vintage. Shucks Bucko. You very seldom even see it reviewed. Her regular is always one of the P/Q leaders, IMHO. The 97 reg got an 87 and I paid 20 per clatter for it in case lots. The 96 Reserve was released in the spring. I'll crack one open one of these here days. The 97 Res should be a KILLER. WW
