Perfumed, almost sweet notes hit the nose and palate. A silky entry, mid-weight center, and a almost 4-lapper finish. A lovely effort from this venerable producer. Zelma Long, one of the worlds best women winemakers, has left a solid legacy. Loads of red fruits, a touch of blackberry, and a scoch of spice wrap up this lovely bottle. 91/95. i7 by the box. 13.5% alc. In the top 100 of the Specualtors picks for 91. WW

Didn't realize the Speculator had such insights in '91...if I only could get some advice from them on my stocks......

As usual the "Fat-Fingers " strike again. Wuz supposed to hit the 01 button. WW

Enjoying the '01 tonight with grilled NY strips, scalloped spuds, green beans almondine and baby carrots cooked down in butter and brown sugar. Very nice juice indeed. Same alc/vol and $14.85 at Costco back in Mar '04.

Had this for lunch yesterday. Still motoring along swimmingly. Nose becomeing more expressive with an addition of nice red plummy notes and pencil shavings. Not quite enough improvement to kick the score up. Next time probably. WW

Broke open another for dinner yesterday. Nose has expanded enough to warrant a 92. What a pleasure to find such a reliable producer that doesn't fall in love with his product and keeps the price at a sane level. WW

Had lunch yesterday with BigRedWines and took a bottle of this and a Conn Valley Estate 2008. The Simi killed all the ducks on the pond. Made the Conn an afterthought. WW
