Ok, I'll admit I know NOTHING about wines, but I'm cooking dinner this Friday for my boyfriend, and I need a good red wine to serve. I'm serving bruchetta as an appetizer, and chicken marsala as the entree... i need LOTS of help... someone? please! thanks a bunch!

Hi Heathera, and welcome to the the Wine Board. The biggest and freshest Pinot Grigio you can find. Nothing older than 1999. Nothing wimpy. Either Italian or Californian will do, or it's other namesake, Pinot Gris if from your neck of the woods.

Oops! Look for a barbera. Again, either one from Italy or from California. The less expensive the better. The reason is you want a light one. Like zinfandel, barbera can be made in many styles. The bigger, more complex barberas are more expensive, and not appropriate for chicken marsala.
