today and I can assure you the girl did herself proud. Opened a bottle of the Gallo Stephani and Frei, decanted and filtered both and sat back and marveled. First down was the Step. Medium ruby. Nose full of sweet spices, red fruits, and floral notes. As it aired the weight gain was incredible. Lovely soft entry, weighty center, and a solid 4+ lapper finish. The Frei started out more shy but shifted into high gear after an hour in the decanter. Nose hit some nice red fruits, black cherries, saddle leather, and earth. All came over on the palate along with some definate rose petals and just enough funk to make it interesting. Neither wine was in decline and seemed the Frei hid some silky tannins to take it another 1-3. Bothe killer juice in thier own rite. 91/95. both 24 per and 14.2 % alc. WW
