Contin uing my checking the 99s' I went to this venerable old vineyard and was not dissapointed. Brite deep ruby. Nose fairly jumps from the glass showing blackberry, red cherry, cassis, and spice along with some nice earthy notes. This all hits the palate along with some pencil shavings. Super entry, solid center and a 4&1/2 lapper finish. This vineyard has been producing outstanding grapes for over 100 years. 92/93 39 by the box. 14.1% alc. WW

I just purchased two bottles of the 2004 Larkmead at about $45 each. Will lay them down for several years.
