What are the best types of wine to serve with Duck a l'orange? I'm specifically interested to know if one can serve a red, and what kind. Thanks!

Hi Style, and welcome to the Wine Board. Had good luck with a Saumur Champigny with that dish over New Years. It is a cabernet franc based red from the Loire Valley if you are not familiar. Got it from Chambers Street Wines there in the Apple, where they have an excellent selection of Loire wines.

IK's suggestion sounds good! Generally Burgundy wine is a nice match for duck but the orange sauce might make it a little problematical. Still, you maybe could try a mellow red Burgundy such as a village Volnay.
