We've been requested to bring French Burgundy for xmas dinner. We are pairing with 2 dishes; 1)scallops & Swiss Chard; 2) potatoes with mushrooms. The guest list is comprised on knowledgable wine enthusiasts. Any advice?

Hi NSimons and welcome to the Wine Board. Would go with a Pouilly Fuisse. The 1999 Joseph Drouhin, a steady Burgundy brand, will run around $18. If you can steer away from the Burgundy, why not go with Champagne? You would need a good, full, NV. The folks at Wine Expo in Santa Monica can be a big help, and can fix you up in the high 20's or low 30's.
