I'm currently looking for a reputable supplier of Cabernet Franc vines for my vineyard. Also, looking for Grunner / Veltliner info as well. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

WC, There are several firms dealing in Varietal cuttings. The most efficient way to find these id to contact the oenology dep`t a The U of Cal- Davis. They can direct you to all of the sources. Winoweenie

Most likely to late for this year but for next year try Herman Wiemer Vineyards/Nursery in Dundee, NY 607-243-7971

We planted 5 acres of Cab Franc this spring using vines from Wiemer--very pleased with them.

Thanks both Winoweenie & Glenora for you help. Yes, it is too late to plant them this year, I'm trying to get things lined up for next spring. There's a lot of experimenting going on here in PA with different grapes, and I'm trying to decide what to allocate some more acreage for. Pennsylvania is about 40 years behind California with their wine industry, and I'm only one of many that are trying to establish some higher quality wines from our state. Thanks again!

WC, Maybe I`ll have the pleasure of trying your juice next year Keep me posted on your releases and I can have it shipped to a friend who owns Vintage Wines in San Diego.Had a great afternoon with Jim Wallace and his child bride in Prescott last week.Hopefully Jim will take over part of the jobs that Curmy did so well Winoweenie

Will do Winoweenie! A buddy of mine drives a refer O.T.R. between here and California twice a month, so there shouldn't be to much problem getting it out to you. I'd send you some of my 99" vintage, but it's blended with one of those "sissy whites" you so distastefully abhore!

Oh well, I guess I'll have to send it to Innkeeper instead! At least I know he'll enjoy it. Only problem, is our trucks don't usually go any further north on the east coast than Conn. I'll see if we can't get dispatch to broker us a load to Maine before summers' end.

Innkeeper, I forgot to mention another side effect of those S.W.s` , is they some-times affect the fingers response times. As far as WC`s wonderful offer,Just to confirm my stance, I`d love to try some to educate myself on not only SW`s , but Pa. wines in particular. Hate to admit something like this, but with the meeny, meeny bottles of juice I`ve had, NONE ever had a Pa. appellation. Winoweenie
