A TERRIFIC LINE-UP OF INCREDIBLE SPECIAL EVENTS AWAIT WINE CONNOISSEURS AND
FOOD LOVERS AT THE LOS ANGELES WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL
NORWALK, CT, June 16, 2006 – Over 100 wineries, dozens of gourmet food companies as well as a
plethora of exciting special events and cooking demonstrations will be featured at the inaugural Los Angeles
Wine and Food Festival taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, August 26 and
Sunday, August 27 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Festival will kick off at the Los Angeles Marriott Downtown on
Friday evening, August 25th with a Reserve Tasting Event that will offer specialty wines and extravagant
culinary delicacies. The cost of the Reserve Event is $125 for the open tasting (7:00 - 10:00 p.m.) and $225
for the prime tasting (6:00 – 10:00 p.m.).
“We encourage everyone passionate about wine, whether an experienced enthusiast or an eager beginner, to
join us to explore, sample and expand their knowledge of wine,” said Ron Mathews, Event Director for Reed
Exhibitions, producers of the Festival. “Participants will also discover foods, see exciting demonstrations from
chefs such as Iron Chef Cat Cora and David Lawrence and learn about foods that pair well with wine.”
Some of the exciting initiatives being offered include:
Celebrity Chef Demonstrations: Iron Chef Cat Cora will be conducting a cooking demonstration and
signing her book on Saturday, August 26th. Cat’s first published cookbook was called Cat Cora’s
Kitchens and she is currently working on a second one titled Cooking from the Hip. David Lawrence, author
of Boy Eats World! A Private Chef Cooks Simple Gourmet will give advice to aspiring cooks who love the
idea of entertaining at home. David’s forthcoming book, Boy Eats World! A Private Chef Cooks Simple
Gourmet, (Lake Isle Press) is all about having fun in the kitchen and strives to demystify cooking for a
generation that grew up playing Atari.
Wine Tasting: Close to 100 international and domestic wineries and their winemakers will be on-hand
including Vinissimo, Stacked Stone Cellars, Cambria Estate Winery, Saint Helena Road Winery, Bridelwood
Estate Winery & E'cluse Wines and many more.
Chocolate Corner: Attendees should plan to stop by the Chocolate Corner to sample indulgent chocolates
from the finest chocolatiers. This area on the show floor for gourmet chocolate tastings will feature companies
such as The San Francisco Chocolate Factory.
Cigar Rolling Demonstrations: The demonstration will include Cuban Master Rollers, sponsored by
PAYNE-MASON at the Friday Evening Reserve Wine & Food Tasting, August 25 at the Los Angeles Marriott
Downtown, and both Saturday and Sunday at the Festival at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Gourmet Food Tastings: Appetizers, candy and chocolates, cheeses, coffee, tea, and cocoa, nuts, jams
and preserves, meats and pates, oils and vinegars, seafood and caviar, sauces and spreads and much more,
will be available. Some of the country’s leading preparers of gourmet food will be offering samples, including
Phillips Foods Inc., Preferred Brands International, Everybody's Nuts, HSR Associates and Chantilly Baby.
New Chefs’ Specials of California Cookbook: Signature Dishes and Favorite Recipes from Celebrated
Chefs and Restaurants Cookbook will be available for $17.95 (pre-show discount, Suggested Retail Price

The Los Angeles Wine & Food Festival is being co-produced by Reed Exhibitions, with World of Wine Events
and the Monterey Wine Festival. The event will be open to the general public for a nominal fee of $65 per
day. Industry trade professionals attending the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo are also invited to
