- Kcwhippet - 11-02-2008 There's a series of tastings going on at a local retailer (not mine), and Verne said I should post on them - so here goes. The shop decided that one grand tasting wasn't enough, so they're bringing in one distributor a week for 8 weeks. Today was United Distributors. What follows is what they had open with an asterisk next to what we actually tasted. No real TN's. Table One *Mumm Napa 2003 Blanc de Blancs *Mumm "Cordon Rouge" *Perrier-Jouet "Grand Brut" Graffina 2007 San Juan Pinot Grigio Brancott 2007 SB Stoneleigh 2006 PN Campo Viejo 2003 Riserva Rioja *Jacob's Creek"reserve" 2005 Shiraz *Sandeman 10 Year Tawny *Sandeman 20 Year Tawny Table Two Pala"Crabilis" 2007 Vermentino di Sardegna Cantina Sociale Coopertiva 2001 Copertino Riserva *Colle Dei Venti 2005 Dolcetto d'Alba Donna Laura "Ali" 2006 Sangiovese di Toscana Donna Laura "Bramosia" 2004 Chianti Classico *Lamborghini "Trescone" 2004 Rosso di Umbria Argentiera "Poggio al Ginepri" 2006 Bolgheri *Argentiera "Villa Donoratico" 2006 Bolgheri Table Three Massamier La Mignarde 2007 Rose Falesco 2007 Est Est Est do montefiascone Zenato "San Benedetto" 2007 Lugana Pierre Boniface 2007 Apremont de Savoie Arona 2008 NZ SB La Carraia 2007 Sangiovese di Umbria *Allegrini 2007 Valpolicella Classico Puydeval 2006 Vin de Pays d'Oc Domaine Cabirau 2007 Vin de Pays des Cotes Catalanes Table Four Rosenblum VC 2005 Syrah A by Acacia 2006 PN *Chalone 2006 Monterey Cty PN *Orogeny 2006 Green Valley PN *Provenance 2005 Rutherford CS *Moon Mountain Reserve 2004 Sonoma Vly CS *BV 2004 Tapestry *Sterling 2004 SVR Reserve *Hewitt 2005 Rutherford CS Table Five Chateau du Cleray 2007 Muscadet Sevre Sauvion 2007 Vouvray Pierre Sparr 2004 Gewurtz Reserve d'Alsace Pierre Sparr 2007 Pinot Gris Reserve d'Alsace *J. Veeder 2005 Napa CS *Franciscan 2004 Magnificat Just as an added note, Judy noticed that the Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut and the Simi Landslide seemed "a bit off". The folks pouring weren't quite sure she knew what was what, but the United guy knew Judy had a really good palate and told them to open new bottles. Huge differences. Also, if I can find the sheets from last week's tasting, I'll post it also. We won't be going to next week's tasting because we're leaving for Disney World a week from today and returning on the following Saturday. Oh, BTW, I don't know if I mentioned it yet, but I popped a hernia at the gym a week ago last Wednesday. The owner at the shop is a bit ticked because I'm not supposed to lift more than 10 pounds off the floor. The doc wouldn't do the operation before we went to FL because it would be too short a recovery, so I get it done on the 21st. Ouch. - winoweenie - 11-03-2008 Ouch is rite! Hope you guys have a good time. Taking the Gran-bubbles? WW - hotwine - 11-03-2008 Ow! No lifting anything heavier than a wine glass with a 2 oz pour. Best wishes, Bob. - TheEngineer - 11-04-2008 Bob, Take care buddy! Nice list for tasting! I miss your store's tasting last weekend. Mike |
