1999 Palhmeyer Napa Valley - TheEngineer - 04-14-2015

A blend of all five bordeaux varietals and out of a magnum

This wine was also stymied by having travelled half way around the world. Perfect fill. This wine actually showed well. A nicely aged wine starting to hit its peak.. nice density good fruit style but starting to show some secondary flavours, tobacco, earth, etc.

More air gave it better density. I should have shipped these wines weeks ago.

I've unfortunately found out by experience just how much the shock of shipping wines, especially older/more delicate wines, detracts from how the wine shows. I am definitely now a "ship weeks in advance" kind of guy.
