1995 Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille - TheEngineer - 02-02-2015

There are good bottles and there are great bottles! This was a great bottle.

This I believe was one of Gaja's first attempts in this area and he nailed it. This is a very nice and typical Brunello. Fully mature and ready to drink, the nose is expansive, elegant, meaty, smokey, cherries, leathery, wonderful bouquet, followup up with the taste that was much in line but with a wonderfully lifted feel. This thing was still fresh and elegant. This was a wonderful bottle and for those of you who have carefully stored one since release, it is time to drink this!
