2002 Warwick Estate Reserve Stellenbosch, SA - TheEngineer - 10-29-2014

I'm really a newbie in this corner. The most experience I have with SA wines are with those from Hamilton Russel.

This one was offered to me last night and i thought it would be a good time to try it. the color is very dark, almost black in appearance adn the nose is rather muted for what was to come. On the palate though, this is not a boring wine. Whether you like it or not is up to you but there is plenty goign on. First a rather unfamiliar grouping of herbs and berries for me, followed by a very creamy blue cheese sensation. Finish was medium plus and not unpleasant. My friend like this wine a lot and I'm more impartial. Certainly interesting and not bad but not sure I wanted a second full glass either.
