2003 Chateau Chasse Spleen - TheEngineer - 10-25-2014

Another orphan (at least not previous cataloged), and from a vintage that I don't hold dearly.

Many 03's I've had are not properly constructed and frankly are falling apart so I was worried about this one, 11 years from that vintage.

But I was pleasantly surprised. This thing is not doubt from a warm year, but the fruit bomb was not so out there. Still some restraint in the structure, low acidity for sure and perhaps the wine was still acidified but it was at least not falling apart. This one lacks complexity too but it was a pleasant drink, ripe, delicious and great for drinking now, just don't ask for more from it.
