2009 Chateaux Poujeaux - TheEngineer - 01-03-2014

If I keep this up, i'll be taking on all the 09's well before they should be. I'll call this an exploratory run.

Great vintage from a known chateau who gives great value. And it delivers. This wine opens up explosively, with the removal of the cork, the nose is immediately there for all. Deep dark fruits on the nose, but oak is still up front (not enough time to fully integrate), th slight herbs and currant on the nose. On the palate, the wood does come to a bit more of the forefront but what a nicely ut together bottle. Super nice texture, velvety on the palate, if but a bit shorter than I wanted. But it has all the goodl marks of a good bordeaux

Geez, since I first opened this one, I've been going back and back.. and back to it. I should have ordered more than a case.

In fact, if anyone sees this at auction, you should take it. Very good value for the price and I must now hide the remainder because I do want to see what happens to these in a few years.

So, why are you posting in an older Bordeaux thread and not the Welcome thread? BTW, we've been getting a lot of posts lately from spammers who really have no interest in what we're doing here. If you're really serious about wine in general and this site in particular, go to the Welcome thread and introduce yourself. Otherwise, please go away.
