- BillJ - 04-07-2003 Hello. I bought some wine (single bottles)about 20 years ago (time flies!) and now I would like to know what they might be worth in the marketplace. Is there a data base that might help? I was thinking of trying e-bay but I'd like an idea of their value before I do that. (e.g. 82,86, and 87 Opus One). Thanks in advance for any advice. - Kcwhippet - 04-07-2003 Try www.winesearcher.com. They show the current retail prices of your wines. Also take a look at www.winebid.com which shows the latest auction prices. - BillJ - 04-07-2003 Thank you! - winoweenie - 04-07-2003 Hi BillJ and welcome to the board. You're going to get a shock trying to sell single bottles. #1) What kind of storage do you have? 2) Where did you buy them and what was their provenance?. Good Luck. WW - BillJ - 04-08-2003 WW, thanks for the cautionary advice. The wines were kept in a below ground cellar, but not specifically cared for "wine-wise". (The temp did not get above 68 degrees). No provenance, just the unopened bottles. I suppose I'll just see what I can do on a few auction sites and, if no luck there, prepare to drink them myself! Thanks again. - winoweenie - 04-08-2003 I'll drink to that! WW |
