So what happeneds when one of the sturdies wines in the world IMHO is matched against some poor handling over the course of three years....this person moved twice, ine the summer, not stored properly, for 8 months stored in a first floor appartment and last year in a basement where the temp gets up to 80 degrees for a prolongued period???
You get a damaged bottle of 02 Riesling Spatlese. This wine however was still drnikable and only because o the structure of the 02 wines did this one survive, if somewhat mared, this abuse. The difference, the wine was very muted, flabby (the white wine equak to being stewed), loss of freshness and not very attractive on the nose, but as it stood, it was a serviceable bottle of white wine.
