Hello wine geniuses. I have a wine fridge thats in almost direct sunlight for a few hours during the day. The fridge has dual paned glass so I dont know if that helps in procecting the wine or if its a method to maintain temp. Please let me know what yall think cause I could easily move it to the basement if its hurting my wine.
Thanks

tw the 3 most harmful elements in wine storage are 1st heat, 2nd vibration, and 3rd light. Move that sucker. WW

TW,
In addition to what WW has said, having the fridge in the sunlight is going to make the refrigeration unit work harder than it needs to. It's detrimental to the compressor.
So, I'd move it to the basement if I were in your shoes.
So many wines... so little time!
Cheers

Is false light bad in the aging of wines or is it just sunlight?

If by "false light" you mean flourescent or incandescent..... yes.

Ok lets say I keep that were it is and make it the intermediary from cellar to table. I am not going to spend the mad cash to have a EC shipped to my house and I am in Milwaukee where there isnt much of a wine craze going on here that I could get a hold of a used one so what should my next step be. I would like to get something in the 150-200 bottle range. Also is it easy to wall off a small area in the basement and add refridgeration/humidification to it? Anyway I'd like to know everyones thoughts.
Thanks
