13.9% alcohol by volume. The Bouchaine Estate Vineyard encompasses the highest landmark terraces in the Carneros district. An assortment of newly planted Dijon clones and traditional 25-year old vines produce the grapes for this wine. Each day's harvest is made in a slightly different style. Six months later the wine is blended into the final product.
This really shone the third evening with shrimp scampi over long-grain rice. Not assertive but a very pleasing complement to the scampi. Citric fruit with mineral backbone. Balanced taste although I was aware of a high alcohol content. I would purchase again and I'm thinking of getting two more bottles for a church fundraiser for the attendees to compare to another California Chardonnay and a white Burgundy or Chablis.
