I like interesting whites and this was definitely an interesting white....but I didn't really love it.

Muted nose (or could be my allegies), fruit is not the focus, some minerals, slighty strange oily texture but interesting, some apricot, but not long enough to keep me interested. Perhaps a weaker bottle since this usually has a pretty good following and so something must be right about it. Not that it was bad, it just was not like a Gravner level wine.

A most unusual wine, indeed. It's made from obeideh and merwah grapes. IIRC, it takes several months to ferment and settle the wine, then it spends about four years aging before they release it. Tried it a few times and never much got into it.

Never much got into any Musar wines, and I used to work for the company that distributed it in N.Y.

Too many hit or miss experiences. When I expressed this concern to the owner, I was told that I didn't understand the wines.

"Exactly!", I said in reply!

Smile Perfect setup Thomas! I agree, the wines are a hit and miss proposition but when they hit they are fab. Plus also the entry point here is GBP 14.99 or about $20-22 versus the $50 that it takes to find one in MA. I'm a bit more open at the first price point.

Engineer, I'm surprised that you could figure out what he said...

I sometimes can't, but then I don't sprechen Phonecian.

My second of three bottles of this. Thought I would leave it alone for a few years to see where it goes.

Frankly it went nowhere. My notes are rather similar to my first ones except that this time, the texture of the wine was a bit weird, (or some would say characterful). It felt like the densities would vary within the sip. Strange but no worse at least.

What do you expect from a SW? Trying to put some muscle in a SW is like trying to put a diaper on a rattlesnake. WWBig Grin
