What wine goes excellently with a corned beef and cabbage dinner? Is it Irish?

Hi Thai, and welcome to the Wine Board. First reaction is to say Harp's Lager. Not familiar with any Irish wine, but never say never. We have a principle that says if you have what you might call an "odd ball dish" then reach for what we almost always (never say always either) have on hand; Marietta Old Wine Red. We have actually had this with it, and it went very well. Currently, their Lot Twenty-six is available most places and runs around ten bucks.
