I have several bottles of Jordan cabernets, 1979,1985, 1989, 1990 and am interested in the value. I have also noted some sediment in one and would like to know what, if anything can be done about it

Hi Mackey and welcome to the board. I'll answer this as it might get lost as when looking for values on older wines the posts are normally put under the Collectibles thread. Jordon cabernets are not on the elite list of collectibles as they are structured to be drunk on release, therefore they are featured on lots of restaurant wine lists. You don't state the storage of these wines and that is the primary concern of any one buying older wines. Your concern about sediment is not a factor as almost all older cabernets throw sediment in various degrees. The determining factor is the amount of filtering or fining, or both, that the winery employs in vinification. Most of the top reds made in this country are unfined and unfiltered. You also didn't state the amopunt of each vintage you own. If it's single bottles of these vintages you'll REALLY have a hard time selling them. The best bet for selling is WineBid.com. Good luck. Send me the one with sediment and I'll conduct a tasting appraisal and send you a full report in writing.
