We have a bottle of Napa Valley Chappellet Chenin Blanc 1982. Bottle was properly stored until1 year ago. At that time it was cooled for opening. Plans changed, bottle was not opened. Bottle remains on wine rack in refrig. should it remain there or can it be put back in storage with reds, etc. Thanks for the tips. You We appreciate you!

Though I am not familiar with the producer of your bottle of chenin blanc, I can tell you that most white wines do not normally keep longer than ten years under normal cellar conditions. Unless your bottle is from an outstanding producer, it's very possible it is either on its way out, or no longer any good. My recommendation would be to just leave it in the fridge for now, open it up first chance you get, and hope for the best.

Unless someone else can help out with more specific information on the producer of your bottle, I'd open it soon and have a back-up of something else ready just in case.

Good luck!

Long since over the hill. Open as a curiosity.

...and have a bottle of Riesling nearby as back-up.
