Chateau Margaux is one of the "First Growth" Bordeaux Wines. It costs a tad; the 1997 will run you $176.00 or so. There are other wines produced in the same region under the Margaux Appellation Controlee. They are known collective as Margaux Wines. Probably the best know of these others is Chateau Palmer, which runs almost as high as the Chateau Margaux. Others can be found as low as the high teens. If you want something in the lessor category, simply go into your wine store and ask what they have in a value Margaux. Personally, in a good vintage, would go something like a Chateau Giscours at around $30.00; and lay it down for five or six years after release.

Innkeeper could well be right, but there is a Marcoux - a Chateauneuf-du-Pape called Domaine de Marcoux, which will set you back a lot less than Margaux!
