We have not sold our house yet, but we think we may have found the site for our new house. It is in New Durham, NH. It is about 10 miles north of the Spaulding Turnpike on Rt 11 going towards Alton on Lake Winnipesaukee. Just over the Farmington line on the west side of Rt 11. It is 6 1/2 acres on a mountainside, and the owner was going to put a modular speck home on it. Now he is willing to put the one we like on it for a total cost of around $240K. Wish us luck.

Best of luck to you IK.

I remember going to my best friends' lake house when I was a kid on Lake Winn. Absolutely beautiful place and wonderful memories!

And nothing personal, but that makes me sick. TB and I are in the middle of escrow on buying a new house. 2000sf, 1/5 acre, $420K. And trust me, that is the going rate!

- wondersofwine - 07-19-2004

Sounds really nice, IK.

- winoweenie - 07-19-2004

Hopefully IK you get both missions accomplished. Sounds beautiful and know it'll allow me to give you weather reports during the LONG winter months. WW

Sounds boo-timous, IK, and a great price. Best wishes.

- Thomas - 07-19-2004

Good luck, IK.

I suppose you know you are venturing into that dreaded place--"liberal-land..."

- tandkvd - 07-19-2004

WOW, that much for 2000 sf CG. We bought a 2600 sf on 1/4 acre for $186,000.

And if you are interested IK there is a 1600 sf ranch right accross the street from me for $139,000. And if you would do the cooking I would supply the wine.

Good luck IK houses aer selling like hot cakes around here.

Sounds like a great deal to me in this current housing market. Congrats and can't wait to see the pictures.

Very exciting, IK! Sounds wonderful.

- Innkeeper - 07-20-2004

Foodie, it's not as liberal as Maine. "Live Free or Die."

- thewoodman - 07-20-2004

calgirl. $420K is a steal if you're in sacto. Around the corner from us is on the market for $535 (1500 sf 2/2). It's absurd.

- Bucko - 07-20-2004

Hey IK, why the move? I thought that you had deep roots in Maine......

- californiagirl - 07-20-2004

thewoodman- it's in a very nice part of roseville- about 15 yr old, outside of the hustle and bustle of the west side Very nice neighborhood.

- Innkeeper - 07-21-2004

Two reasons for the move, both related to our both turning 65 this year. First we find it just about impossible to maintain our fourteen room, 3 and 3/4 bath home. Second we have four children and seven grandchildren living in New Hampshire, and they and Mother want to be closer together.

- Thomas - 07-21-2004

and third--Bev and IK are looking for more fun in the sun...

- Bucko - 07-21-2004

Well IK, I certainly wish you the very best. I've never been to NH, but the pictures I've seen have been impressive. Maybe the spirit of Horace Greeley will rub off on you and you'll start a book or something.........

- Kcwhippet - 07-21-2004

I'll bet you haven't tasted any of the fine NH wines either, Bucko.

- Bucko - 07-21-2004

Like the Maiden's Blush from Flag Hill...... cough.

- Kcwhippet - 07-22-2004

I don't believe that would be one of them.
