Does anyone have any experience with GOOD non-alcoholic wines for someone who must not have alcohol temporarily?

That is an oxymoron......

I did have an occasion when i had a glass of non-alcohol wine. The experience was not a good one. Although, I have a workmate who does not drink, period, tsh, tsh, but will partake in the non-alcohol Sutter Home Fre wines, he gives them a thumbs-up. Different Strokes and all that.

Well, we only sell two kinds of them in our store, I personally have not tried either. We sell the Fre and one called Ariel. I have a regular who is an avid wine drinker, but when she got pregnant she tried these. Her opinion was that they were both quite disappointing. Making an adequate non-alcoholic wine seems to be something the wineries have not yet accomplished.

Why anyone bothers to make something called non-alcoholic wine is beyond understanding. As Bucko says, oxymoronic: wine is alcoholic; the rest is grape juice.

I tend to prefer Ariel to Fre...and of all the no-alcohol wines I have tasted, the sparklers taste the most like the real thing...I think because the effervesence makes up for some of the missing alcoholic zing.

I'm not sure why, but no alcohol brews come off much better than the wines.
