I'm sitting in an Air Canada lounge...waiting on yet another delayed flight....going to Regina. It is not a destination that I am looking forward to (both on whom I'm meeting or the wines that are available). Hopefully I'll get home by Sunday.....in time to leave again.

But I had a great time this time in Vancouver and with colleague, tasted through a number of wines from the Okanagan. I've posted on some in the past but this time included brands that I've not tasted before. They included last night

See Ya Later
Gray Monk
Blasted Churches
Quail's Gate
Mission Hill
Inniskillin
Osoyoo Larose
In'mip (SP)
and a few others. While no notes were taken, I was very impressed by the wines. With an increase in temperature and an almost desert like lack of water in this area, they are able to make some very very nice wines. If I was in Europe looking for another place to expand, this may just be it. I can imagine the quality of the stuff in another 15 years time. Wow...

Was the OAKanagan a Freudian slip, or are you trying to tell us something?

Oops....certain, I think some are overoaked if nothing but to add oak in there but in general there are some pretty good wines there.
