Looking forward to food, wine, and seminars. May take part in a blind tasting. I do hope the distributors bring some zinfandels this year and leave some of the chardonnays and merlots behind.

Tell everyone in the Dunn/Erwin Metroplex that I said hello. I once worked for the company that owned the denim plant in Erwin. I really enjoyed that area of the world, especially the proximity to Chapel Hill.
Speaking of Zins, I found one bottle of the 97 Edmeades at the little wine shop in Hendersonville, NC last month. Thought I would never see that wine again.

North Carolina has been hit hard between move of textile jobs overseas and diminishing returns on tobacco. (Plus cutbacks in labor force of high tech and pharmaceuticals in Triangle Research Park due to economic slump). The state went from a large surplus budget to a deficit budget. The governor is pushing for a state lottery but that is not my recommendation for solving budget problems. I was in California which had a lottery and it just made citizens more reluctant to fund school bond issues, etc.
